Tribal Transient Occupancy Tax FAQs


(1)  Does the Tribe currently collect a tribal transient occupancy tax?

Yes. However, at the present time the Tribe has elected to limit its tribal transient occupancy tax program only to the hotel at Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage.

(2)  What is the tribal transient occupancy tax rate?

Tribal law provides the flexibility to adjust the tribal transient occupancy tax rate within the 2% -14% range.

(3)  Are there any tribal transient occupancy tax exemptions?

Yes. The following hotel occupancies are exempt from the tribal transient occupancy tax:

  • occupancies directly billed to and paid by the federal government, a state government, a tribal government, a local government, or any qualifying organization.
